Free virtual support groups are back this spring
The McGill University Dementia Education Program and the Alzheimer Society of Montreal are glad to announce a second session of The Sharing Room.
Beginning the week of April 11, 2022, The Sharing Room will offer four different virtual support groups to care partners of people living with dementia (PLWD). There will be a group for partners/spouses and another group for adult children of PLWD, and each group will be offered in both French and English.
The Sharing Room is a safe space for care partners to share about their experiences, to connect online with each other to break the isolation, and to engage and identify their own needs as care providers.
The group size is kept to a maximum of eight participants in order to give everyone ample time and opportunity to express their views.
The Sharing Room takes place online through Zoom and is facilitated by a trained moderator. Participants will have to commit to meeting with their group for 90 minutes every week for eight weeks, starting the week of April 11 through to May 25.
