DESCRIPTION:\n	Globally\, there are limited data on COVID-19 illness and vac
 cination during pregnancy to inform recommendations for pregnant people an
 d their care providers and to guide public health policies.\n\n	For that re
 ason\, the COVID-19 Immunity Task Force (CITF) and CanCOVID are eager to s
 hare the latest research from three CITF-supported studies on the impact o
 f SARS-CoV-2 infection and COVID-19 vaccination on pregnancy and newborns.
 \n\n	Among the topics to be addressed:\n\n	\n		The increased risk of serious i
 llness requiring hospital admission for pregnant people with a SARS-CoV-2 
 infection.\n		The higher risk of consequences to the baby (e.g. premature bi
 rth\, low birth weight).\n		Results from a recent study on pregnancy outcome
 s among individuals who received COVID-19 vaccines during pregnancy\, comp
 ared with unvaccinated individuals.\n		The presence of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies
  in breastmilk and the value of breastfeeding following infection and vacc
 ination.\n	\n\n	The results from these studies are communicated regularly to
  public health officials to help inform decision-making for ongoing COVID-
 19 vaccine administration programs in Canada.\n\n	Please join us for the pr
