Class of 2021
Language(s): French, English, Vietnamese
Education History: DEC Health Sciences (Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf, 2016)
Home Town: Montreal, Québec
Mini-Bio: Coming from a family of immigrants welcomed with open arms by their new country, I was always taught that helping others was the best way to give back what we have received. Pursuing medicine as a Loran Scholar is one of the ways through which I seek to achieve this while combining my interest in public policy, entrepreneurship and grassroots community work. The many resources available to help you develop your projects, the diverse student body, and the clinical excellence at McGill are all reasons that influenced my medical school selection. Outside of the classroom, you can find me hooping on a basketball court, eating in one of the many amazing restaurants Montreal has to offer or enjoying a good movie!

Xinyu (Jenny)

Class of 2021
Language(s): English, French, Mandarin
Education: DEC Health Science (Marianopolis College, 2014), BSc. Occupational Therapy (McGill University, 2017)
Home town: Benxi, China
Mini-Bio:I’ve always known I wanted to serve in healthcare. I was born and raised in China, and after having spent a bulk of my early teens in Texas, my family and I immigrated to Montreal. Being exposed to diverse social and cultural environments fostered my love for humanity. Importantly, it helped see that we all share a commonality in our body and health. Montreal is a beautiful city, and McGill has always been my top choice since seriously considering pursuing medicine as a profession. It offers an amazing plethora of opportunities and hosts world-class lecturers. I love getting involved with various student groups, and when I’m not on campus, you can find me out with friends, visiting museums, or sketching in a quaint café.
