Returns Policy

Hardware, software, and supplies purchased at the McGill Computer Store ('MCS') may be refunded or exchanged up to 10 business days from the date of purchase indicated on the original register receipt or packing list, provided they are unused, in the original factory-sealed packaging, and in a sellable condition, or are deemed defective and returnable by the vendor, distributor or manufacturer under their defective or dead on arrival product returns guidelines. There are no refunds, returns, or exchanges on open hardware, open software, software licenses, open consumables including recordable media singles, special order items, clearance items, items marked as "Final Sale" or gift cards and other prepaid services. Returns must be accompanied by the original register receipt or packing list, as well as applicable original transaction record in the case of a transaction settled with a payment card. Your valid McGill ID card may be requested for returns of certain items.

Manufacturers' guidelines apply for all defective hardware returns. All original packaging materials must be returned.

All refunds will be credited in the same method as original payment.

Customer satisfaction return policies are at the discretion of the manufacturer, not the McGill Computer Store.

Configured-to-order (CTO), personalized or otherwise customized products may not be returned for refund or exchange, except if deemed defective and returnable by the vendor, distributor or manufacturer, under their defective or dead on arrival product returns guidelines.

All software license sales are final. Due to copyright laws, there are no returns on opened software. Defective software may be exchanged for the same or equivalent title (if the product has been discontinued) within 10 business days of purchase according to our standard return policy.

All sales of LifeProof-brand accessories and cases are final. The manufacturer does not authorize returns or exchanges by the retailer. The end-user must contact LifeProof for any returns or exchanges within the warranty period.

"Special order" refers to any item not normally kept in our inventory. Special order products may be cancelled for a full refund if we are notified before the goods leave the supplier. A 20% restocking fee will be charged on goods that have shipped. If a deposit was collected, it will be forfeited in lieu of a restocking fee. Special orders are kept for 30 days, after which they are returned to the manufacturer and the deposit forfeited. Orders for CTO, built-to-order, personalized products, or items otherwise customized cannot be cancelled once they are placed with the manufacturer. RAM and other system-specific upgrades are final sale, with the exception of defective items returned according to our standard returns policy.

All clearance and discounted items are final sale.

Our returns policy is subject to change without notice. All refunds are given at the discretion of the manager.

Our returns policy is based on Quebec's Consumer Protection Act regarding Refunds/Exchanges:
