 iscussion panel\;\n			Friday\, May 10 at 3:30 pm (CRM - no registration neede
 d): Colloquium given by Dr. Sara Faridi (Dalhousie University)\, followed 
 by a reception.\n				\n				THURSDAY\, MAY 9: Screening of the film Secrets of the 
 surface: The Mathematical Vision of Maryam Mirzakhani\n\n				Starts at: 6:00 p

  the life and work of Maryam Mirzakhani\, an Iranian mathematician who imm
 igrated to the United States. In 2014\, she was the first woman to receive
  the prestigious Fields Medal\, the highest award in mathematics. Her jour
 ney\, her successes and her constant passion for her discipline make her a
 n inspiring role model. In this film\, mathematicians from all over the wo
 rld\, former teachers\, classmates and students from today's Iran\, expres
 s the profound influence of Maryam's achievements. This documentary was wr
