DESCRIPTION:Workshop: Interacting Particle Systems and Hydrodynamic Limits
 - March 14-25\, 2022\n\nRegistration deadline: March 7\, 2022\n\nThe study
of interacting particle systems is devoted to the rigorous analysis of a
certain class of very high dimensional stochastic processes. These can be
described in terms of a large number of randomly interacting components wh
ich evolve in a discrete space. While initially interest in the field was
triggered by statistical mechanics\, there are now numerous applications o
f these systems across the natural and social sciences\; from electrical e
 ngineering\, to sociology\, via computer science\, economics\, population
genetics and epidemiology. Interacting particle systems also provide a nat
ural framework to study fundamental phenomena which occur in these applica
tions\, such as phase transitions\, metastability and relaxation to equili
brium. One of the main goals is to understand and predict emergent behavio
ur on macroscopic scales\, as a result of the microscopic dynamics and int
eractions of the individual components. In the past decades this field has
grown in importance and established itself as one of the most active bran
ches of probability theory. This workshop will in particular encompass the
following topics: hydrodynamic limits\, non-equilibrium fluctuations and
metastability\, Liouville quantum gravity and interface dynamics.\n	The aim
of this workshop is to gather mathematicians working on various aspects o
f particle systems\, during two weeks\, to discuss and share recent progre
ss in the field\, with an eye toward stimulating new developments and intr
oducing recent breakthroughs to a broader community. The first week will b
e mainly devoted to mini-courses\, given by Cristina Toninelli and Hendrik
Weber\, and should be particularly valuable and accessible to graduate st
udents and early career researchers\, while the second week will be devote
d to research talks and will include plenty of time for discussion and col
laboration.\n\nOrganizers :\n	Paul Chleboun (University of Warwick)\n	Alessa
