McGill Summer School in Health Statistics

The summer school will be held at McGill University in Montreal, May 28-June 01, 2018. This school immediately precedes the Statistical Society of Canada Annual Meeting, also to be held at McGill University, which will in turn be followed by a month-long program at the Centre de recherche mathematique on “Causal inference in the presence of dependence and network structure: modelling strategies and model selection”.

The school will consist of five days of courses aimed primarily at upper undergraduate and MSc students who are interested in pursuing further university education, and curious about modern topics in statistics that they are unlikely to have encountered in their training. The school will serve, in particular, to prepare students interested in participating in the CRM conferences associated with the Causal inference in the presence of dependence and network structure: modelling strategies and model selection themed month, which will feature talks by world- renowned speakers presenting new research in causal inference and spatial statistics, in particular, and which may rely on the use of large health databases and require some background in computational statistics and survival analysis. The school will be limited to approximately 40 students due to constraints of the available room.
