Ebenezer Ajayi

Biography:

I would describe myself as highly curious and focused on learning in all parts of life, personal and professional.

In my professional life, I look for the hardest problems to solve and where I can learn and develop the most. I have taken on many different types of projects, including ads, health, oil and gas, commerce, and this is the beauty of being a data scientist. No matter what I’m working on, I’m very invested. I identify anyone I can learn from, as well as problems that I care about, and try to optimize every step of the process. In the last four years, I have had two years of work experience as a data scientist in a telecommunication industry where I mostly work on customer data to better understand how to serve them, and make relevant recommendations for them, if necessary. I also worked in the Banking industry as an Application Support Analyst where I managed the testing, deployment, monitoring, and configuration of 15 in-house applications, as well as external application. Because of my interest in Data, I decided to pursue my master’s degree in Electrical Engineering which I recently completed.

In my personal life, I spend a lot of time reading and usually have a focused area of interest for a longer period of time. For instance, last year, I read and researched about the oil and gas industry, and at the current rate of extraction, we might run out
of oil in a couple of decades. I found it fascinating, and it sparked a desire to change industries — which eventually led me to take a project to devise techniques in extracting more oil from a reservoir using advanced technology.
