DESCRIPTION:Lister Family Engaged Science Initiative\n\nHelping researchers
make their science accessible by teaching them to hone their content\, ph
ysical presence\, visuals and voice to effectively engage a variety of aud
iences.\n\nThe Effective Presenting 101 Series takes you through each of t
he basic steps needed to present effectively: honing content and creating
trajectory\, designing effective visuals\, and developing a dynamic presen
ce. Together these skills combine to increase the comprehension\, credibil
ity and connection needed to maximize your impact when presenting.\n\nThe
first workshop\, Content Development\, helps you understand how a framewor
k to interrogate audience and purpose can help refine content so that is a
ccessible\, interesting\, and strategic. Additionally\, you will learn det
ailed hook strategies and sequencing strategies for everything from a 3-mi
nute to a 1-hour long presentation.\n\nThese 45-minute workshops can be ta
ken independently or as a series\, depending on your needs and presentatio
n goals. There will be an additional 15-minute open Q&A at the end.\n\nSpa
ce is limited to 13 participants. Advanced registration is required.\n\nAd
ditional workshops and event can be found on the Lister Family Engaged Sci
ence Initiative website.\n\nThis workshop is automatically recognized on y
our McGill co-curricular record (CCR). Learn more about the CCR.\n
