DESCRIPTION:McGill-led cannabis research and training program: past the hal
 fway mark and gaining global recognition\n\nThe McGill University-led NSER
 C-CREATE in Quality Assurance and Quality Control for Cannabis Production\
 , Products and Training Program (QAQCC) is now 3.5 years into its 7-year m
 andate. Awarded days before the first COVID-19 shutdown in March 2020\, th
 e industrial stream program has since provided an enriched training progra
 m and support to over 45 graduate students and 12 undergraduates from McGi
 ll University\, the University of Ottawa and the University of Saskatchewa
 n. More than 20 peer-reviewed studies have been published by QAQCC trainee
 s\, with over 70 abstracts accepted at conferences for presentations or po
 sters. As conference season approaches\, some trainees are set to share fi
 ndings at meetings in Canada\, Europe and the US. The majority of McGill t
 rainees are Macdonald Campus community members\, pursuing MScs or PhDs in 
 the Departments of Bioresource Engineering\, Food and Agricultual Chemistr
 y and Plant Sciences.\n\n3rd Cannabis Scientific Symposium\n\nEvery year\,
  the QAQCC and the McGill Research Centre for Cannabis team up to host the
  Cannabis Scientific Symposium: From Plants to People. This interdisciplin
 ary gathering engages researchers in McGill's Faculty of Agricultural and 
 Environmental Sciences and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences\, a
 s well as investigators across Canada and around the globe to share their 
 research and make important connections. Representatives from Health Canad
 a and industry stakeholders similarly attend. This year's hybrid event wil
 l take place June 3-4\, 2024\, at the Research Institute for the McGill Un
 iversity Health Centre (and online). Registration is required.\n\nRegister
