Webinar: The Therapeutic Axis of Microbiome, Inflammation, and Immune Response

Tuesday, March 31, 2020 11:00to12:00
Zoom meeting: https://mcgill.zoom.us/j/785668650

Biotech Webinar scheduled for Tuesday, March 31, 2020 from 11:00-12:00, by Dr. Rana Samadfam, Charles River Laboratories. This seminar will be held on Zoom (https://mcgill.zoom.us/j/785668650).

Summary: Since Joshua Lederberg’s Nobel Laureate recognition nearly 20 years ago, we’ve seen an explosion in microbiome research. Today, it’ s clear that the microbiome has great influence on human health and disease. Join us to explore this fascinating pseudo-organ, its role in inflammatory processes, and how we might leverage microorganisms in development of new models and therapies. Using a model of inflammatory colitis, Dr. Rana Samadfam will explain how gut microbiota affects the induction, education and function of the immune system, and share how live therapeutics can affect inflammatory cytokines, dysbiosis, and the immunologic response.
