PhD Oral Defence: Biocatalytic acylation of carbohydrates to produce feruloylated oligosaccharides and carbohydrate fatty acid esters

Macdonald-Stewart Building MS2-022, 21111 Lakeshore Road, St Anne de Bellevue, QC, H9X 3V9, CA

PhD Oral Defence of Juan Tamayo Cabezas, Food Science & Agricultural Chemistry

Enzymatic acylation of saccharides with bioactive moieties has attracted attention as a possible route to produce value-added products from low cost renewable sources. This research work investigated the potential of immobilized carboxylic ester hydrolases to catalyze the synthesis of compounds with potential bioactive properties in non-conventional media.

Everyone in the McGill community is welcome to attend a PhD oral defence. Please join us in celebrating the accomplishments of our PhD candidates.
