Laura Dehaibi appointed as Assistant Professor in Université Laval’s Département des relations industrielles

We would like to extent our heartiest congratulations to current LLDRL postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Laura Dehaibi, for her appointment as Assistant Professor in Université Laval’s Département des relations industrielles effective 1 December 2022.  

A member of the Quebec Bar since 2007, she holds a D.C.L. from McGill University. Her research focuses on the interaction between territory, labour law and social justice from the perspective of marginalized populations. She is finalizing a book manuscript on these themes for publication by Edward Elgar.  Dr. Dehaibi has also contributed meaningfully to the work of the LLDRL, preparing a special national report on mining in Peru and co-authoring the general report for the International Academy of Comparative Law thematic report on Contemporary Forms of Slavery, including Causes and Consequences and travelled to the IACL congress in  Asuncion, Paraguay as well the Law and Society Association Annual meeting in Lisbon, Portugal to present her findings.  She has coordinated the revision of the LLDRL’s database, while supporting student research assistants. 

Laura Dehaibi will continue as a member of the LLDRL, and guest lecture in Professor Blackett’s Winter 2023 Transnational Labour Law course.  Congratulations Professor Dehaibi and thank you for your many contributions to the LLDRL and McGill.
