McGill catalogue interface changes coming August 24
As of Wednesday, August 24, significant changes will be made to the McGill catalogue interface. As shown in the accompanying image, the dropdown menu for result sorting options that was located at the top of search results will now appear on the left panel with other search options such as grouping related editions and expanding searches. Also, the “Group This Search” accordion will display as collapsed by default and will read: “Search Result Display”.
RESOLVED: Technical issue with "Report a broken link" feature

The “Report a broken link” feature is having technical issues and we are in the process of troubleshooting.
In the meantime, if you’d like to report a broken link in the Library catalogue, please email collections.library [at] mcgill.ca.

New | View recent borrowing history in Library account
It is now possible to retain and view your recent borrowing history in your McGill Library account. To protect your privacy, this option is disabled by default and records are retained for 5 months only.

Starting on July 19, 2022, Oxford University Press will begin migrating its e-book content to their Oxford Academic Platform (formerly Oxford Journals).

On June 23, Scholars Portal Dataverse is becoming Borealis, the Canadian Dataverse Repository / le dépôt Dataverse canadien. All links to the current Scholars Portal Dataverse site will be redirected to the new site - borealisdata.ca.
May 19 | Macdonald Campus Library closed from 9AM to 1PM
Due to a water outage, the Macdonald Campus Library will be closed on Thursday, May 19, from 9 am to 1 pm.*

Book borrowing made easy with Sofia
As of May 5, a new feature in the Sofia Discovery tool will make it easy to request books directly from the other 18 university libraries across Québec.

April 29 from 5:30-7:30AM | Electrical shutdown in the McLennan-Redpath Library Complex
Please note that a planned, sector-wide power outage will affect the McLennan-Redpath Library Complex on Friday, April 29 from 5:30am to 7:30am.
The sole source of lighting during this period will be emergency lighting in hallways and exit areas.
For safety reasons, McGill University security guards will escort Library users out of the McLennan-Redpath Complex before the shutdown is set to begin.
April 20-21 | Circulation services unavailable. Reference Services & most Library spaces open for study.
MUNACA has obtained a strike mandate from their members, following a vote that took place on April 6. McGill has been informed that MUNACA intends to exercise their right to use pressure tactics and is planning a two-day strike this week on Wednesday, April 20 and Thursday, April 21, 2022.

Holds temporarily not accepted on Osler Library’s circulating collection
As part of the service disruption as Osler Library of the History of Medicine moves back to the McIntyre Building, please note that no holds can currently be placed on the Osler’s circulating collection, with the exception of the journal collection in the Redpath Library Building Basement.
