Math Collection housed in the Edward Rosenthall Library to move this summer

Published: 30 June 2015

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics will be transforming the former Library space on the 11th floor of Burnside Hall over the upcoming year in order to meet the teaching and learning needs of students and faculty. To facilitate this space transformation, the McGill Library will relocate the library collection and merge this material with the rest of the math and statistic collections currently housed in other branch libraries.

The monographic collection in the Edward Rosenthall Library will be integrated into the Schulich Library of Science and Engineering. Material published before 1901 will move to McGill Library’s Rare Books and Special Collections and the journal collection will be housed in the Currie Gym storage facility and retrieved within 2 business days, Monday to Friday.

The physical move will begin on July 15, 2015 and will take 6-8 weeks to complete. Should faculty or students wish to borrow material, please do not hesitate to visit the Library before July 15th.
