Colombo, the system used for managing interlibrary loan (ILL) requests, will be replaced by a new system integrated into the Library’s Sofia Discovery tool (i.e. Library catalogue) beginning June 21, 2022.

As of June 21, your ILL requests will be made directly in Sofia, using the “Request via Interlibrary Loan” button or using the request form that will be available in your Library user account (“My Account”).

Your ILL requests

Beginning June 21, you will be able to view and manage your new ILL requests in your Library account in the catalogue, and you will no longer have access to your Colombo account.

Please note that your current ILL requests already made through Colombo will remain active and will be managed by the Library’s Interlibrary Loan service in Colombo until they are completed.

On June 21, look out for more updates including additional resources and a link to the new system.

If you have any questions related to your Colombo account or the ILL service, please don’t hesitate to contact us at ill.library [at] mcgill.ca.
