Update: Exam Period Access for Fall 2016

From November 27 to December 20, McGill students will be able to access the Nahum Gelber Law Library 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As agreed between the Students' Society of McGill University (SSMU) and the Law Students Association (LSA), the Nahum Gelber Law Library will limit access to the three upper floors of the library to Law students only during the December 7 to December 20 examination period. This will enable Law students to access the print materials required for their open book exams on floors 3, 4, and 5. Details are as follows:

  • Floors 3, 4 and 5 will be limited to Law students from 9 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday and 10 AM to 6 PM on Sunday during the two-week period.
  • The ground floor and the second floor will be available to all students on a 24-hour basis.  Should materials on the upper floors be required by McGill students, students can submit a hold/scan request or ask for assistance at the Library’s service desk

The SSMU, LSA and the Nahum Gelber Law Library agreed to the above schedule after consulting students.  We trust that these hours of access will meet student needs.
