 son Cromwell Professor of Law at Harvard University's School of Law. He sp
 ecializes in constitutional law and theory\, including comparative constit
 utional law. His research includes studies examining (skeptically) the pra
 ctice of judicial review in the United States and around the world. He als
 o writes in the area of legal and particularly constitutional history\, wi
 th works on the development of civil rights law in the United States and (
 currently) a long-term project on the history of the US Supreme Court in t
 he 1930s. He is the author of The Constitution of the United States of Ame
 rica: A Contextual Analysis (Hart Publ'g 2d rev. ed. 2015)\, and Advanced 
 Introduction to Comparative Constitutional Law (Edward Elgar Publ'g 2014).
