  Keatley Surveying decision. This case dealt with copyright in land survey
 s filed with provincial land registries. The Keatley Surveying judgment wi
 ll be placed in context with the Federal Court of Appeal’s ruling in P.S. 
 Knight Co v Canadian Standards Association\, which held that statutes can 
 be copyrighted.\n\nMichael Shortt is an intellectual property lawyer at Fa
 sken Martineau. As a litigator\, he appeared before the Supreme Court of C
 anada\, the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal\, the Ontario and Qu
 ébec superior courts\, and the Copyright Board.\n\nRefreshments served.\n
