DESCRIPTION:The McGill International Law Society student club is hosting Mi
 chelle Ratpan and Robert Delonis\, litigation specialists from the World B
 ank. Both speakers have extensive international experience in litigation a
 nd negotiation\, and will talk about the World Bank's legal framework for 
 fighting corruption and fraud in development projects.  Spots are limited:

  Specialist in the World Bank Group Integrity Vice Presidency (INT). He ad
 vises INT investigators regarding their inquiries into allegations of frau
 d\, corruption\, collusion\, and coercion affecting World Bank–supported a
 ctivities\; argues resulting sanctions cases in the World Bank Group's adm
 inistrative sanctions system\; and leads the negotiation of settlements in
  cases where an amicable resolution is pursued. Prior to the formation of 
 INT's Special Litigation Unit\, he was a core team member on INT's Detaile
 d Implementation Review of the India Health Sector\, and a team member (an
 d\, briefly\, acting head) of INT's Voluntary Disclosure Program. Before j
 oining INT in 2006\, he practiced law in the Washington\, D.C. office of a
  multinational law firm\, focusing on civil litigation. He is a graduate o
 f Georgetown University and New York University School of Law.  Michelle R
 atpan (McGill Law alumna) works as a Litigation Specialist for the Special
  Litigation Unit in the World Bank’s Integrity Vice Presidency (INT). In t
 his capacity\, Michelle works as an attorney with several teams of investi
 gators examining allegations of corruption\, fraud\, collusion\, obstructi
 on and/or coercion and bringing these matters before a Sanctions Board wit
 hin the World Bank. Michelle’s work includes investigations in several reg
 ions of the world including the Middle East and North Africa\, Eastern Eur
 ope and Central Asia and South Asia Regions. Michelle has traveled to Russ
 ia\, Serbia\, Moldova\, France\, Denmark\, India and Bangladesh as part of
  INT’s investigations.
