DESCRIPTION:Les groupes étudiants Droit Criminel McGill et Projet Innocence
McGill ont le plaisir de vous inviter à une discussion avec Calvin Duncan
.\n\nCalvin Duncan spent 28.5 years in a Louisiana prison for a crime he d
id not commit. He will be sharing his story and thoughts about the crimina
l justice system in Louisiana.\n\nWhile in prison\, Duncan worked as inmat
e legal counsel for twenty-three years. Shortly after he was released\, he
was hired as a paralegal with the Louisiana Capital Appeals Project. In 2
012\, Duncan was awarded the Soros Justice Fellowship to vindicate the pos
t-conviction rights of incarcerated people by increasing their access to t
he courts\, and by raising awareness around the inequities in the post-con
viction process. In 2014\, Duncan co-founded The First 72+\, a transitiona
l home and re-entry program started by and for people returning home from
prison. \n\nMonsieur Duncan fera sa présentation par le biais d'un appel v
idéeo sur Skype.\n\nRSVP: criminallawmcgill [at] gmail.com\n
