Biography

Vincent Forray is assistant professor in the Faculty of Law, where he teaches contractual obligations and advanced civil law of obligations. He is a member of the Paul-André Crépeau Center for Private and Comparative Law.

He was formerly associate professor in the University of Savoie from 2006 to 2011. He has also taught at Mykolas Romeris University, Vilnius, Lithuania in 2008 and 2009 ; Cairo University, Institute for International Business Law, Egypt in 2008 ; Moldova State University, Chisinau, Moldova in 2009 ; University of Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil in 2010; University of St. Jacques de Compostela, Spain in 2010.

Vincent Forray is the co-founder of the French collection Jurisprudence - Revue critique. He has co-edited several issues of the collection in 2010, 2011 and 2012. He is partially in charge of the review of books for the Revue trimestrielle de droit civil. He is also a member of the Comité scientifique pour l’organisation de la Semaine doctorale intensive de l’Ecole de droit de Sciences Po et de l’Université Paris X.

Research Interests

Vincent Forray conducts critical and transsytemic research in contract law, torts law, civil law of obligations and consumer law. He is also interested in studying the scientific, pedagogical and professional jurist’s activities. His ongoing research include attempts to specify the implicit political, philosophical and literary determination of the legal forms, and what characterizes legal formalization in the jurist’s writing.

He would gladly supervise research in all these fields.

Vincent is working with Pr Sébastien Pimont on a book untitled La décriture du droit. He is also the author of a book based on his doctoral thesis : Le consensualisme dans la théorie générale du contrat, Lextenso Editions / LGDJ, 2007, préface Geneviève Pignarre, foreword Christian Atias.
