Segmentation and Sense-Making: Towards a Computational Narratology

Monday, November 21, 2022 14:00to15:30

You are cordially invited to the following talk sponsored by .txtlab:

In this talk, I will present our recent work in the field of computational narratology, that is, the development and use of computational strategies for analyzing literary narratives. By focusing on narrative segments such as events, scenes, and narrative levels, I will discuss how the analysis of narrative structure relates to more complex approaches of textual analysis. Among other, these segments are relevant as a kind of pre-processing for narrative analysis. Moreover, they are intertwined with central narrative concepts such as narrativity or fictionality.
