Dr. Max Evans is an Associate Professor in the School of Information Studies at McGill University and co-founder of the Knowah Research Lab. Broadly, his research is in the area of organizational information and knowledge management but specifically Max is interested in better understanding (e.g., affective, cognitive, social, and technological factors) and facilitating knowledge sharing. Max has worked in academia since 2004, teaching a variety of courses relating to professional skills (e.g., communications, emotional intelligence, professional networking), strategic management, knowledge management, innovation, business process reengineering, technology management, information system analysis and design, information architecture, and community management. He holds a Bachelors of Science in International Marketing (minor in philosophy) from Northern Illinois University’s Business School, a Masters of Information Studies (in Information Systems) and a PhD in Information Studies from the Faculty of Information, University of Toronto. He is also a Masters and Doctoral graduate of the Knowledge Media Design Institute (KMDI) at the University of Toronto. Max is a full member of the International Association for Knowledge Management (IAKM) and a member of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Music Media and Technology in Montreal. Professionally, he has worked in a number of areas including finance (investor relations), marketing, strategy (business and technology), operations, and technology deployment. His clients range from start-up companies to top Fortune 100 organizations. His professional experience includes project management, strategy consulting, operations analysis, business process reengineering, and information systems analysis, architecture and design.
