 \n\nTheresa Rowat will discuss the Canadian archival system\, its developm
 ent and present challenges. As teaching and research institutions\, univer
 sities play a special role in the building of this country’s archival lega
 cy. When McGill’s archives was founded by Principal F. Cyril James in 1962
 \, it was the first integrated archives and records program in a Canadian 
 university. Today\, archival holdings in public institutions continue to g
 row\, largely thanks to donations from scholars\, creators and collectors.
 \n\nTheresa Rowat is Director\, The Archive of the Jesuits in Canada\, and
  sits on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Council of Archives. She s
 erved as Director and University Archivist\, McGill University Archives\, 
 from 2007 to 2013.\n\nAll are welcome\n\n\nJames McGill Society: One Hundr
