IT Alert: Fraudulent "Phishing" Email

Please note that there is a fraudulent email message being circulated that requests information about you and your McGill email account. If you receive this message do not reply to itDELETE the message immediately.  Legitimate emails from McGill would never request such information.

The fraudulent email looks like this:

Subject: Mail Quota Increment

your mailbox is getting close to quota. If your mailbox exceeds the quota limit, there is no room for additional mail and all new messages will bounce back to the sender.

In addition to the default allocations everyone has the ability to
increase their email quota, in increments of .5 Gb. To have your Exchange quota increased You Must enter your valid account details as requested
below.:

Your full Name;
Email Username;
Email Pass.word;
Confirm Pass.word;
Your Phone number;

Failure to validate your Webmail quota may result in loss
of important information in Your mailbox or cause limited
access To It.
