Warning: Phishing email entitled "Update Your Account"

Be aware of fraudulent email messages entitled "Update Your Account" that are circulating at McGill (see example below). They ask you to click an attachment that is a copy of a McGill sign-in form and then submit this data to an external site.

DELETE these emails and do not click on any links or attachments provided.

IT Services has blocked access to the offending site from on campus, but you will not be prevented from submitting the form if you are off-campus.

If you have already submitted the form, please change your McGill Password immediately.

Note that legitimate emails from McGill will NEVER ask you to submit your username/password credentials.

Dear   Customer,

Due to server upgrade in our Internet facility, security upgrade is being made to serve you better.
To upgrade your E-mail please click on the attachment button, to upgrade your E-mail.
Thank You .
Customer Service.
