RESOLVED: Network reboot successful

The network reboot was successful and all services are now operational. We are continuing to monitor the situation. Note that lectures recorded using the on campus LRS were not affected.


UPDATE - posted at 11:45 am on October 12
To resolve internet and VPN issues, we will need to reboot our firewalls immediately.

WHEN: This reboot operation will be done now and will take approximately 10 minutes.

WHAT IS AFFECTED: During the reboot, people on campus will lose access to all Internet and intranet services, including email, Teams, OneDrive, and websites.

NOT AFFECTED: Those working from home (outside McGill) will continue to be able to access email, MS Teams and other MS 365 services. However, you will not be able to access the VPN.

Additional information will be provided once the reboot operation is completed.

We are currently experiencing network connectivity issues affecting McGill's VPN. We are working on a resolution and will provide updated information as it becomes available. We thank you for your patience
