Oracle Application Server Upgrade this weekend, Dec. 13-14


Notice to all Banner users:

Please note that the version of Oracle Application Server used by Banner and Minerva will be upgraded this weekend during the regular monthly downtime (Saturday, Dec. 13 at 10:00 pm to Sunday, Dec 14 at 10:00 am).  This upgrade will allow Banner and Minerva to support IE 7 and Windows Vista.

As a result of this upgrade, Banner (INB) will now require the Java plug-in, instead of Jinitiator.  LAN Administrators have been informed of this change and have already taken steps to install the Java plug-in for their users. If you use Banner and you experience any error messages related to Java versions, please see the IT Knowledge Base article:  “Trouble-shooting tips for running Banner (INB)”  (type in # 4578 and click Go from the IT Services web page )

When starting Banner you may see a Security warning pop-up window.  Just check the box that says ”Always trust content from this publisher” and you will not be bothered by it again.
