There is a phishing email circulating from the ICT Service Desk asking users to click on a link to update their webmail.mcgill.ca Web Appls 2016.

An upgrade will be done on the NBUSPARTAN Backup System Wednesday, August 10 from 4 am to 1 pm. No backups or restores for the backup system will be permitted during the maintenance window.

Switching all uPrint fax lines to XMedius fall 2016

XMedius is a central voice over IP service that allows faculty and staff members to send faxes, both within and outside McGill, with a choice of convenient methods. This service was introduced in 2015, but the goal of converting existing analog fax lines to XMedius was postponed till now.

The McGill Software site (www.mcgill.ca/software) will be unavailable due to maintenance on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 for approximately 2 hours starting at 7 am

Phishing email: "Campus Police Bomb Alert for all Mcgill.Ca"

There is a fraudulent email circulating with the subject: "Campus Police Bomb Alert for all Mcgill.Ca". It contains links to a malicious site that looks identical to the Outlook Web App login page. The URL in the link has been blocked and is now inaccessible from within the McGill network; however recipients off campus must beware.

Telephony maintenance tonight affects external calls

Resolved: Some users unable to access McGill websites (www.mcgill.ca/..)

Status update
July 21, 2016, 1:34 pm: McGill websites now appear to be functioning normally, but we will continue to monitor them for any issues.

When trying to access McGill websites, you may find that pages load slowly, don't load completely, or get a "mcgill.ca is over capacity" error message.

IT Services is investigating the issue. We apologize for the inconvenience.
