myMcGill portal downtime 4:30 pm October 18 to 10:00 am October 19


The myMcGill portal will be unavailable for an urgent maintenance operation, beginning on Tuesday, October 18 at 4:30 pm and ending on Wednesday, October 19 at 10:00 am.

VPN update: Cisco AnyConnect client update to version 4.2, October 26, 2016

On Wednesday, October 26, 2016 there will be an update to the Cisco AnyConnect application, used to connect to McGill’s Virtual Private Network.

This update is a maintenance release that includes enhancements and resolves some known issues with the earlier version.

Windows and mobile devices:
For Windows and mobile users, the new version, v4.2, will be automatically installed when you attempt to connect to securevpn.mcgill.ca.

There is a phishing email circulating with content relating to expiration of McGill e-ID Anti Virus. The message requests that the recipient click on a link to keep their account active.

There is a phishing email circulating with content relating to mailbox storage limits. The message requests that the recipient click on a link to recover deleted messages.

myMcGill portal downtime 5:00 pm October 5 to 7:00 am October 7


The myMcGill portal will be unavailable for approximately 37 hours beginning on Wednesday, October 5 at 5:00 pm and ending on Friday, October 7 at 7:00 am, due to an upgrade of the underlying platform.

RESOLVED: Problem with anti-spam system causing delays in email

Update - Wednesday, Sept. 28. 2016:
The problem described below was resolved of 10:15 today. Email delivery is back to normal.

There is currently a problem with McGill’s anti-spam system, which is causing delays in processing incoming messages from outside McGill.
