James Falconer — PhD Candidate, Sociology

Bio

James Falconer holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from the University of Lethbridge.  He is currently a Doctoral student in the department of Sociology at McGill, and a CIHR Vanier Canada Graduate Scholar.  His research interests include Social inequalities in health, Health policy, Medical sociology, Deviance & social control, and Immigration & integration.  He has contributed to publications on Muslim immigrants to Canada, and presented at conferences on health issues such as social determinants of health and access to health care among linguistic minorities.  His current research focusses on the health status and access of Québec anglophones, and the role of policy changes on population health and health inequalities in OECD countries using HIAD data.
