DESCRIPTION:This workshop introduces participants to the ideas of accessibi
 lity\, disability\, and ableism both in our current context and throughout
  history. Learners will go over terminology related to these concepts\, in
 vestigate their colonial and historical foundations and legacies\, and con
 temporary examples of disability justice. Participants will apply these te
 rms and examples alongside intersecting systems of oppression to unpack th
 e present context and their position within it.Learning Objectives:- Under
 stand the terminology surrounding accessibility\, disability\, and ableism
 - Recognize the historical and colonial roots of ableism​- Reflect on one'
 s positionality within the present-day conversation​IMPORTANT: Students mu
 st register with their official McGill email address in order for the regi
 stration to be valid.Accessibility: Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) a
 nd Our Shared Spaces (OSS) are committed to providing educational content 
 that is accessible to as many audiences as possible\, regardless of abilit
 y. In the COVID-19 context\, our workshops are provided via Zoom with auto
 matic transcription enabled. Our PowerPoints go through an accessibility-c
 hecker\, and if instructions are provided\, they are given verbally and vi
 a written text. We provide content warnings throughout the workshop as nee
 ded. As a participant\, you will have ample opportunity for varied engagem
 ent\, some examples are via the Zoom chat function\, breakout rooms\, list
 ening\, and verbally in the larger group. There are no scheduled breaks bu
 t we encourage participants to take them as needed.If you have any specifi
