 on of Unix systems through four progressive modules. From foundational ins
 ights into system structure and terminal communication to text processing 
 and bash scripting\, each module builds on the previous one with practical
  examples. The workshop concludes with a comprehensive review of the conte
 nt\, contextualized in terms of high-performance computing systems. At the
  end of this workshop\, participants will:- Understand the core structure 
 of the Unix operating system.- Navigate the Unix terminal efficiently and 
 perform basic file operations.- Acquire basic text processing skills using
  the terminal.- Gain insights into the applications and benefits of high-p
 erformance computing.- Learn how to connect to a server and understand the
  fundamentals of job scheduling. Prerequisites:- Access to a Unix terminal
 - No previous programming experience needed IMPORTANT NOTICE: Attendance f
 or McGill graduate students and postdoctoral fellows is subsidized by Grad
 uate and Postdoctoral Studies. All other attendees such as undergraduate s
 tudents\, interns and/or graduate students from other institutions are req
 uired to purchase a ticket to cover organizational and staffing costs. To
