AUCC Students for Development

The Internship Offices Network (ION) is pleased to announce that five McGill students will receive an award of $6,500 to subsidize an internship with Nexos Voluntarios in Peru in the summer of 2012, focusing on one of CIDA's development themes: food security, children and youth, and sustainable economic development.

Interested students are encouraged to attend an Info Session on Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm in Leacock 429.

The Students for Development Program is financed by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and brings together Canadian university students and partners in developing countries to contribute to governance capacity-building. The program is managed by the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC) and grants $6,500 awards to Canadian youth who are engaged in credited internships in developing countries that focus on the themes of food security, children and youth, and sustainable economic development.

Le programme Étudiants pour le développement permet à des étudiants universitaires de niveau supérieur de participer à un stage d’une durée de trois mois ou plus dans un pays en développement partenaire. Administré par l’Association des universités et collèges du Canada (AUCC), et réalisé avec l’appui financier du Gouvernement du Canada agissant par l’entremise de l'Agence canadienne de développement international (ACDI), le programme alloue $6500 a des jeunes Canadiens impliqués dans des stages dans les domaines de la sécurité alimentaire, les enfants et les jeunes, et une croissance économique durable.
