Mandatory for ALL international students
All non-Canadians coming to McGill must obtain the documents below to study legally in Quebec (and Canada) if enrolled in a program lasting 6 months or longer.
Montreal summers are humid and range from warm to hot with an average Temperature of 22-30 °C. Spring and fall can be mild, but pone to drastic temperature changes. Late season heat waves and even snow storms in November and April are possible. Winter in Montreal usually brings cold, snowy, windy, and, at times, icy weather.

Once you arrive in Canada, keep copies of all important documents (e.g. Passport, Study Permit, CAQ, Health Insurance Card, etc.) in a safe place, and take note of your documents' expiry dates.

Congratulations on graduation!
Students who graduate in both the Fall and Winter terms, and have confirmed their coverage for the entire year, are covered by the IHI plan until the end of the academic year - August, 31.
IHI Rates for the 2016-2017 academic year
- Single IHI plan: $993
- Dependent IHI plan: $3,048
- Family IHI plan: $5,793
