 f Kahnawake and has been a journalist for 25 years. He holds a Bachelor of
  Arts degree in Journalism from Concordia University. He is also a graduat
 e of the adult immersion program Kanien’kéha Ratiwennahní:rats.\n\nGreg is
  the editor/publisher of Iorì:wase – a community media outlet based in Kah
 nawake. Iorì:wase first launched online in 2008 and has been printing a ne
 wspaper since 2013 and it also produces video content and podcasts. In 202
 2\, Iorì:wase was named Best Overall Newspaper by the Quebec Community New
 spapers Association.\n\nOutside of journalism\, Greg is very involved in h
 is community and is the Chairman of the Tewatohnhi’saktha Board of Directo
 r and is one of the founders and Chairman of the Club 24 Athletics Foundat

 \n\nThe Writer-in-Residence program is one of the initiatives funded by th
 e five-year\, US$1.25-million grant by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation in 
 June 2019 to support McGill’s Indigenous Studies and Community Engagement 
 Initiative (ISCEI). The ISCEI promotes the growth of the Indigenous Studie
 s Program in the Faculty of Arts\, and aims to serve as a nexus for Indige
 nous scholarship and community-building and to facilitate communication an
 d collaboration across units at McGill\, as well as in partnership with In
 digenous communities.\n\nThe Writer in Residence program brings Indigenous
  writers to campus to continue their creative work\, share their expertise
 \, interact with students and faculty members\, and enhance knowledge of a
 nd exposure to Indigenous writing among the campus community and the publi
 c at large. \n
