- Dr. Vang and her team received an impactful SSHRC Race, Gender and Diversity Initiative grant. The Government of Canada announced the awarded projects yesterday. The grant will support a new community-based partnership and research activities related to anti-Inuit racism and cultural safety in maternal and child healthcare services for Arviarmuit.
- Midwife Kimberley Moorhouse, Coordinator of Midwifery Services for the Inuulitsivik Health Centre, and Dr. Vang gave a presentation on cultural safety in Indigenous maternal mental health and perinatal services at the University of Minnesota Medical School’s Women Health Equity, Empowerment, & Leadership seminar series in November 2021.
