Visa application processing times vary greatly among countries, so please consult this page to get an estimate of how long it will take your application to be processed.
- Determine if you require a Visa to enter Canada by following this link.
- If the answer is yes, find out how to apply for a visitor visa here. You can either apply online or on paper.
- Your closest Visa Application Centre will be able to help you.
- As of September 1st, 2015, the fee for a Visitor Visa (Temporary Resident Visa) is $100 CAD. There are two ways to pay this fee:
Overseas – through your Visa or Consular office
Online – If you apply online, the visa application fee must be paid online
In addition to a Visa, you may also require a medical exam or letter of invitation to enter Canada.
If you require a letter of invitation, you must provide the following information to ihspdragonsden.ihsp [at] mcgill.ca
Full Name (First, Last)
Date of Birth
Passport Number (Issued and Expiry Date)
Permanent Address and Telephone Number
Duration of Stay in Canada (If staying longer than the duration of the workshop)
Intended Place of Stay
Arrival and Departure Date
NOTE: In the event that the visa office requests that your letter of invitation be notarized, you will be responsible for covering these costs. IHSP will be able to process requests for notarization but this must be indicated with your invitation letter request. These costs will be added to your registration fees.
