Multiple axes of inequality generate tension when it comes to home care, and changes are needed to support both flexible care and secure work. In her new book, Cynthia Cranford Cranford analyzes the tensions, alliances, and compromises between security for workers and flexibility for recipients, and illustrates how elderly and disabled people and the immigrant women workers who assist them in daily activities develop meaningful relationships.
This event was co-hosted by the Institute for Health and Social Policy at McGill University and by the Centre for Research and Expertise in Social Gerontology.
