rship extends beyond what individuals know to who they are. Character-base
d leadership integrates moral and dispositional qualities into leadership
education\, fostering the development of leaders who can navigate complexi
ty with integrity\, resilience\, and purpose. This presentation will explo
re the state of the art in character education within health professions e
ducation\, drawing on emerging research and insights from an ongoing progr
am of study on character-based leadership in medicine. Key findings from a
systematic review of leadership training in medical education will highli
ght existing gaps and limitations\, while qualitative research will provid
e deeper perspectives on how character shapes leadership effectiveness in
healthcare settings. This session will offer both practical insights and s
cholarly perspectives on the role of character in health professions leade
rship. It will examine key challenges\, consider new approaches to leaders
hip development\, and invite reflection on the opportunities and complexit
ies of integrating character education into healthcare training and practi
 ce.\n
