Background

The Institute was launched on December 16, 2011 with a conference involving all individuals who have expressed an interest in the Institute. The conference highlighted the three research axes (noted above) of the Institute for Human Development and Well-being.

It provided momentum regarding the value of transdisciplinary research networks within the Institute, and for establishing new networks.

It raised public awareness about and provided an accounting of evidence for the unique nature and value of transdisciplinary educational research for governments and policy makers, the public at large, and educators (including teachers, but not limited exclusively to teachers and school personnel).

It contributed to ongoing efforts within the Faculty to raise awareness about the need to attract new sources of funding for the Faculty.
