 ple have been reckoning with the precarity of digital records in the face 
 of technological obsolescence. This talk presents some computer networking
  records from the onset of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the United States and 
 the role that computation played in shaping biomedical discourse\, exchang
 ing lifesaving information\, and forging vital social bonds.\n\nDr. Kat Br
 ewster is a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Michigan Sch
 ool of Information. Her work focuses on how the internet gets remembered a
 nd who gets forgotten\, with a specific focus on pre-1996 LGBTQ+ computer 
 histories.\n\nThis event is also part of the 7th Season of Disrupting Disr
 uptions: the Feminist and Accessible Publishing and Communications Technol
 ogies Speaker and Workshop Series\, organized by Dr. Alex Ketchum.\n
