Pay Equity Commission

We have been informed by the Pay Equity Commission that the following notice must be posted and distributed to all staff members: Pay Equity (PDF).

The University's Pay Equity Committee was established in accordance with the Pay Equity Act and comprised representatives of academic and administrative and support staff. Employees represented two-thirds of the PEC, i.e., ten (10) of fifteen (15) members. Eight (8) of the ten (10) were women. While the unions designated their representatives on PEC, representatives of the non-unionized administrative and support staff, and academic staff were elected.

The Committee completed the Pay Equity plan on time and in accordance with the Pay Equity Act.

Pay equity adjustments were made to eligible staff in five instalments. The final pay equity adjustment was paid on November 21, 2005.
