Tentative agreement reached with AGSEM invigilators

Published: 6May2013

On May 2nd the University signed a tentative agreement with AGSEM invigilators on all items remaining to be negotiated. It was signed in the presence of the government-appointed arbitrator who has been involved in these negotiations since the fall of 2012.

The parties will now proceed with the drafting of a formal memorandum of agreement which will be signed by both parties. It will then be presented to members for ratification at a general assembly, at a date to be determined shortly.

This concludes the negotiation process which lasted about two years. The AGSEM bargaining unit 2 is affiliated with the Fédération nationale des enseignants du Québec (FNEQ), a unit of the Confédération des syndicats nationaux (CSN). It was certified to represent invigilators in April 2010. This will be their first collective agreement.
