Tentative agreement with MCLIU course lecturers and instructors on core issues

The university met with MCLIU course lecturers and instructors on Dec. 17 and is pleased to report that the parties have reached an agreement in principle on the core issues discussed during the last three bargaining sessions. 

These core issues pertain to article 7 (responsibility for union membership form), article 14 (establishment of a first list of points relating to hiring), article 15 (excluded courses, reserve clauses, selection process, maximum number of courses per semester and per year), article 16 (hiring procedures, contract signing, cancellation of courses), and article 21 (intellectual property). 

The parties will return to the bargaining table on January 12 and 14 and will be addressing monetary items.
