On September 17, the parties discussed the issue of vacation scheduling in the last week of the reference year, which has since been ratified by the parties and will be applied to the three collective agreements.
McGill and SEU (facilities) discuss phased retirement
On October 15, the possibility of phased retirement was brought back to the table for discussion. McGill expressed concern about the difficulty of implementing phased retirement due to operational and financial constraints. The union expressed disappointment in not seeing this topic discussed to their satisfaction.
McGill and SEU (facilities) discuss temporary alternative work arrangements
On November 12, McGill proposed to look at temporary alternative work arrangements (TAWA). The parties reviewed TAWA implications on operations and benefits. The union submitted its counter proposal and will present its comments at the next meeting, scheduled for November 26.
The 3 bargaining units in question are: computing centre, printing services and facilities management/residences/Faculty Club, represented by SEU (Service Employees Union, local section 800, affiliated with the Quebec Labour Federation).
