Discussions on overtime clauses with SEU (trades)

The parties met on February 13, 2014 and signed off on the text of a letter of agreement covering work hours and the bilingual version of overtime conversion.  The parties discussed at length the application and the wording of the overtime clauses to be included in the three collective agreements.  The union tabled a proposal, substantiated by a suggested text applicable to all three collective agreements, which led to discussions and further proposals by the university. Even though the discussion progressed significantly, the parties were not able to reach an agreement. The parties will continue to discuss this topic at the next meeting, scheduled for March 13. The parties agreed to add two more days to the negotiation calendar.

The 4 bargaining units involved in these negotiations are employees from trades and from powerhouse downtown, and employees from trades and from powerhouse Macdonald campus, represented by SEU, local 800 (Service Employees Union, local section 800, affiliated with the Quebec Labour Federation).
