At the January 23 session with AMUSE floor fellows, the parties discussed the inclusion in the collective agreement of descriptions of roles and responsibilities and values. More specifically, the union wants the focus to be on harm reduction and anti-oppression as key issues they must deal with in their work.
At the January 30 session, the university proposed to write two documents that would eventually serve as the basis of training material for floor fellows, the first outlining roles and responsibilities and the second defining a code of conduct. These documents will be presented to the union at the next bargaining session. The union said it preferred to hold off on discussing other topics in the meantime. The next meeting is set for March 13.
