At the August 30 bargaining session, the university presented counter-proposals to the union’s counter-proposals presented earlier in the summer on course attribution, which includes a hiring priority system based on seniority points. Although no agreements were reached, the parties agreed to pursue discussions at the next bargaining session set for September 13.
At the start of negotiations, the parties agreed on publishing the following statement, to be included on all bargaining updates: “The University and the union jointly recognize the importance of informing the McGill community of our progress in negotiations. While we may have different positions on some issues, we are both committed to finding common ground. We have agreed to provide a link to the other party’s bargaining updates along with each of ours”. To find the corresponding update from the other party click on http://agsem.ca/lecturers/?page_id=31
